Beatrice D. "Bea" Johnson of Woodbridge was called to her heavenly home Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.
Born May 1, 1916, in Whitetop, Bea had been a resident of Woodbridge since 1964. A graduate of University of Alabama-Birmingham, Bea had a lifelong career as an RN, running a clinic at the Pentagon until her retirement in 1981. She also enjoyed a 30-year career selling real estate in Prince William County.
In 1944, she married Roy G. Johnson and was happily married until his death in 1982. In addition to her husband, Bea was preceded in death by her sister, Glenna M. Lamberton, and longtime companion, William H. White.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Johnson Rash of Woodbridge; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kathy Johnson of Stafford County; her grandchildren, Sandy Rash Pritchard of Woodbridge, Amy Johnson Heiman (Ian) of Centerville and Roy Johnson (Sabrina) of Suffolk; and great-grandchildren Emily and Danielle Pritchard of Woodbridge, Margaret and Jake Heiman of Centerville, and Molly and Alice Johnson and Nathan Mehle, all of Suffolk.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Mountcastle Funeral Home, on Occoquan Road in Woodbridge. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home, with interment immediately following in Quantico National Cemetery.
