Budget: The U.S. Senate should be red-faced

The article in the Dec. 23 paper, "Warner: It's an embarrassment," was right on the money (no pun intended), but not in the way most people think. The U.S. Senate has yet to vote on President Obama's fiscal 2013 budget. The U.S. Senate voted down the president's fiscal 2012 budget, 97-0. The Senate has failed to put forth its own budget for several years. With yearly trillion-dollar-plus deficits, Sen. Warner should be embarrassed for taking $200,000 in salary/benefits every year and failing to put the U.S. government on a sound financial path.
