Violet Irene Benson, 69, of Colonial Beach passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital after multiple illnesses.
Vie is survived by her daughter, Sonia L. Gleaton; two granddaughters, Krystal M. Longbrake and Jennifer A. Longbrake; and two great-grandsons, Kenneth G. Neitzey Jr. and Jacob T. Watson II.
Vie had the biggest heart. She enjoyed spending her free time with her friends at Ola's and playing cards. When she was not with her friends she was with her grandchildren. She meant the world to so many people who will miss her dearly.
The family thanks all in the community who helped and stood by her loved ones during this difficult time.
A celebration of life for Vie will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Colonial Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
