Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger Harris wants to have coffee with you.

Harris, members of his command staff and deputies from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office will be available Tuesday morning to answer questions from the community.

Coffee with the Sheriff is a new initiative designed to reach out to people and businesses in the community and build a better relationship with the county.

"It is important that our deputies develop strong relationships within the community," Harris said. "Many times citizens have questions about laws, neighborhood issues, issues in the community, etc., but don't necessarily have the opportunity to have an open dialogue with a deputy."

The event won't have a set agenda or presentations. It will provide a chance for residents to sit one-on-one and have a conversation with the sheriff or members of his staff.

The event will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 a.m., at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant at 9900 Southpoint Parkway.
