Thomas Frank Self, 71, of Spotsylvania County passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Self was the owner of Thomas F. Self Construction until his retirement. He was a contractor for more than 40 years and co-owner of Remodeling, Restoration and Repair. He attended Round Oak Baptist Church. Mr. Self enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Kim Elliott and Nicky Beach and her husband, Lee; son Jason Self and fiancee Amy HySmith-Woolum; special friend Marilyn Edwards; brother Gene Self; sister Annie Monroe; grandchildren Kassey Elliott, Virginia Elliott, Ben Morley, Luke Morley, Brad Morley, Lindsay Self, Phoebe Beach, Presley Woolum and Tyler Simone; cousin Linwood Thacker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda A. Self; parents Benjamin and Hazel Self; and son-in-law John Morley II.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
