Harry Richard Ferree, 82, of Stafford County passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Capt. Ferree retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years, having served during the World War II era and in Korea and Vietnam. He worked in Fredericksburg until he retired in 1994. Mr. Ferree was a member of St. Mathias United Methodist Church, Lake of the Woods Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed boating, bingo, bowling and his dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Helen Louise Ferree; children Denise F. Bullock (Jim), Richard S. Ferree (Linda), Dawn F. Miller (Don) and Doreen F. Barnes (Darryl); brother James Ferree; sister Janet DeLozier (Bill); grandchildren Ben Bullock, Kent Ferree, Bryce and Beth Barnes and Emily, Drew and Ethan Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter Dianne L. Ferree and sister Frances Mae Short.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
