Ann Rabson, 67, of Hartwood died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her home.
Ann was born April 12, 1945, in New York City, grew up in Ohio, and lived in Chicago before moving to the Fredericksburg area. She was an internationally acclaimed blueswoman and received a dozen Blues Music Award nominations.
Survivors include her husband, George Newman; a daughter, Liz Rabson Schnore of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Georgia Rabson Schnore of Brooklyn; a sister, Mimi Rabson and her husband, Dave Harris, of Arlington, Mass.; a brother, Steve Rabson of Fredericksburg; her father, Gus Rabson and his wife, Carolyn, of Haverhill, Mass.; a niece, Julia Harris of Arlington; two nephews, Sam Harris of Arlington and Kenji Rabson and his wife, Eva Minoura, of Stockholm, Sweden; and two great-nephews, Hugo and Esben Minoura of Stockholm.
