James O. Brooks Sr., 66, of Woodford died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was a beloved husband, father and "Pops."

Survivors include his wife, Carol Brooks; three sons, James O. Brooks Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, Mark Brooks and Brian Brooks and his wife, Shannon; five grandchildren, Hunter, Harley, Haley, Faith and Brian Jr.; a sister, Elsie Crowell; three brothers, John, Raymond and David Brooks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Edna Brooks; two brothers, Leroy and Wayne; his mother-in-law, Myrtle Smith; and his father-in-law, Roy Smith Sr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
