Bruce M. Embrey, 77, of Bealeton died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born in Sumerduck on Sept. 6, 1935, a son of Joseph Daniel and Alma Mae Embrey.
Aside from being a loving husband and father, he was a general contractor and the former owner of Superior Silo Co. in Morrisville, serving the farming community across the Mid-Atlantic region. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and was a great fan of auto sports.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie M. Embrey, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1955; and three sons, Kenneth M. Embrey of Sumerduck, Edward A. Embrey of Lynchburg and Hugh V. Embrey of Bealeton. Additional survivors include brother Donald Embrey of Harrisonburg; sister Jean Lee of Manassas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Joseph D. Embrey Jr.; and sister Evelyn Croushorn.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Morrisville United Methodist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lois Volunteer Fire Department, Box 137, Bealeton, Va. 22712; or to Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department, Box 121, Goldvein, Va. 22720.
