Patricia A. Gaydos

Patricia Ann Gaydos, 96, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

Mrs. Gaydos was a native of North Bend, Neb. She worked in Omaha as one of the first female passenger agents hired by United Airlines, and later, after moving to Los Angeles, she worked for 29 years for the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence research aide.

Following the death of her husband, Joe, she returned to the Midwest and resided in Council Bluffs, Iowa, near her family.

In 2002, Pat moved to Virginia and enjoyed the rest of her life at Chancellor's Village assisted living community.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her four sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kent and her husband, James, and granddog Molly, all of Spotsylvania County; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Chancellor's Village, 12100 Chancellors Village Lane, Fredericksburg, Va. 22407.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Queen of Apostles Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, both in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
