Robert A. Redmond Jr.

Robert Albert "Rob" Redmond Jr., 45, of Reston died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, doing what he loved. He was skiing with a group of close friends in Breckenridge, Colo., when he suffered a traumatic head injury.

Rob was born on Sept. 25, 1967, in Fort Meade, Md. Rob attended George Mason University, where he played intramural lacrosse. He was a Realtor with Century 21 New Millennium in Chantilly and a member of "The Agent E Team." He was previously a newspaper advertising sales associate with Media General's News & Messenger newspaper of Prince William County.

Rob was an avid skier, windsurfer, and Redskins fan. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews, nieces and friends, and especially attending Nationals games with his nephew.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Moye Rose (Steve) of Fredericksburg; stepmother Patricia T. Redmond of Frederick, Md.; sisters Jacqueline Redmond Overton (Jeff) of Suffolk and Erin Redmond Webb (Ramsey) of Whitsett, N.C.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Rob was predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert A. Redmond; and his sister, Susan R. Kilby.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Pastor Edward Pruitt, of Harrisonburg, will be officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Stafford funeral home.

Rob's light will continue to shine through numerous organ donations via Donor Alliance Organ and Tissue Donation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary contributions be made to Donor Alliance at donor alliance.org or Brain Injury Association of America at biausa.org.
