Now that's offensive: Memphis disowns CSA

I just read about the Memphis City Council vote to change the name of a park currently named after Nathan Bedford Forrest ["Memphis City Council deals blow to Confederacy," Feb. 8].

I find it to be horrendously offensive, and racist, that a certain group of people wants to remove some of America's history. Kennith Van Buren, an African-American, finds it "offensive" that the city "fails to be unified."

This is America! This is country of many nations that has a lot of history that formed and built this country, good and bad, into what it is today! For one group to change this is truly horrendously offensive, and racist!
