Marilyn Thompson Green, 79, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
She was born in South Hill to the late Clyde B. and Dell S. Thompson.
She graduated from Longwood College and worked as a teacher and real estate agent and then at the Fredericksburg Visitor Center.
Marilyn was a member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Elks Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sons, Charles (Ginnie), Robert (Cathie), Keith (Christine), Brian (Connie) and Mark (Teresa). She had 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Green Jr.; and brothers Harold and Wallace Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Fredericksburg Baptist Church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in South Hill.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to a charity of one's choice.
