In response to Paul Desilets' question in the letter to the editor on Feb. 19 ["Where have all the children gone?"], I would just like to say he's right on the mark with everything said. However, even though abortion has ripped many a young soul from us, there are still plenty of little ones around.

Thinking about what he said ("I hadn't attended the church of my youth in quite some time"), I thought, "That, sir, says it all."

The parents of these young ones feel that church is passe. They'd rather belong to the church of what's happening now: malls, playing fields, sleep-overs--you name it--anything else is a good excuse for not attending church on Sunday morning for that one hour that we can give back to the Lord in praise and fellowship with other believers.
