Raymond George Lemp, 69, of Stafford County died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, after a six-week battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 7, 1943, in New Kensington, Pa., to the late George and Dorothy Rio Lemp. Ray served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1977, then worked for the U.S. government until his retirement in 2011. He was a parishioner of St. William of York Catholic Church in Stafford.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Harding Lemp; his son, Raymond Michael Lemp (wife Larissa Kerpchar Lemp); and his daughter, Lisa Lemp Allred.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday, March 2, at St. William of York Catholic Church, 3130 Jefferson Davis Highway, Stafford. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
