Welby Newlon Sowers II, 44, of Ruther Glen passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

Welby was born in 1968 in Leesburg. He graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1986 and attended Northern Virginia Community College for EMT training. He was an assistant retail manager at National Tire and Battery. He was also a former member of Sterling Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife of six years, Anjanette Sowers; son James Clason; his children from a former marriage, Lindsay and Adam; mother Anna Sowers; sister Susann Lusnia (Albert); and father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Carroll Clason.

He was predeceased by his father, Welby Newlon Sowers Sr.

He was a loving father, son and husband.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Loudoun County.
