Transportation requires a new way of thinking
Why do FLS editors think we can solve our transportation problems by simply shoveling more money into the same types of projects that got us into this mess? ["Time-tax relief," Feb. 26] The problem is not lack of funds; it's what we were spending them on.
So now the FLS is pinning the "hero" label on those legislators who follow the myth that we can pave our way out of congestion--which has never worked--while ignoring the real heroes: the legislators who step up and admit that the sensible way to move people is by mass transit, and the sustainable way out of congestion is congestion pricing.
