Mrs. Jean V. Parker, a native of Tappahannock, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 68.
She was the daughter of the late Robert Carson and Ruth Welch Vaughan of Tappahannock. She had retired after 27 years of teaching with the Harlandale Independent school district in San Antonio.
She is survived by her husband Clyde Parker Jr.; a daughter, Mandisa Oni; a son, Vergial Omari; and a granddaughter, Johnya Carsone, all of San Antonio; three brothers, John Vaughn of Oxon Hill, Md., Richard Vaughn of Anchorage, Alaska, and Alan Young of Waldorf, Md.

A service will be held at noon Saturday, March 9, at First Baptist Church, 415 Marsh St., Tappahannock, Va. 22560. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
