Delores T. Stallings

Delores Tiller Stallings, 61, of Spotsylvania County passed away peacefully, with her husband and children by her side, on Monday, March 4, 2013, at University of Virginia Medical Center.

Delores was born and raised in Bluefield, W.Va., and graduated from Bluefield College.

She possessed a true servant's heart as she was a woman of faith, devotion, and love for her family and friends. Delores was a dedicated member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church for more than 27 years and inspired countless others through her involvement in church and community programs. She especially touched many children's lives through her years of teaching preschool, music, Sunday school and other related programs at the church. Delores also enjoyed music, hand bells, horses, gardening and caring for her husband and three children.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Wade Stallings; and her children, Amy Habel (Daniel) of Richmond, Jonathan Stallings of Blacksburg and Robert Stallings of Indiana, Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A celebration service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Fredericksburg Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the church at 8 p.m. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Red Bud Baptist Church cemetery in Castalia, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Fredericksburg Baptist Church, 1019 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401. Donations will help support their hand bell program, as Delores did for more than 27 years.
