Taiwan's aid to 'Sandy' victims is appreciated
I would like to publicly thank President Ma Ying-jeou and the government of Taiwan (the Republic of China) for the donation of $1.3 million for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The U.S. is quick to send aid to other countries when they suffer from natural disasters, but Taiwan and Israel were the only foreign governments to offer assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
I would also like to thank the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (Taiwan) for the hot meals it served to victims of Hurricane Sandy and to disaster relief personnel. Thank you, Taiwan, for your generosity and concern for Americans in need!
