George O. Frey Jr., 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 8, 2013.
George was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and was predeceased by his father, George O. Frey Sr.; mother Dr. Marie Currie-Frey; and sister Mary Hickman.
George's undergraduate degree was from Ursinus College with German, history and English majors. He held a master's degree in school administration from Penn State University. In his early career he was a junior high school principal, but his professional home was in the classroom teaching his first love, American history. He retired from Monmouth Regional High School in New Jersey in 1985. Relocating to Fredericksburg, America's most historic city, was another pleasure in his life.
George received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army after serving briefly at the end of World War II.
George leaves his loving wife of 44 years, Joan Frey; nieces Amy Cradick of Indianapolis, Ind., Bonnie Krysinski of Springfield and Christine Kopecky of Stafford County.
Arrangements will be private.
