Richard Lloyd Hockaday, 86, of Woodford passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Hockaday was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II in the Seabees in Okinawa. He worked at FMC for 31 years and then at Dominion Power for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by son Kenneth L. Hockaday.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Annie N. Hockaday; son Donald R. Hockaday (Lynn) of Woodford; daughter-in-law Linda Hockaday of Spotsylvania County; grandchildren Kurt Hockaday (Christy) of Fredericksburg, Wesley Hockaday of Fredericksburg and Patrick Hockaday (Teresa) of Texas; great-grandsons Caleb, Daniel and Mason; sister Inez Synan of Spotsylvania; nephews Joseph, Daniel and Roderick Synan; and great-niece Meghan Synan.
A service will be held at noon Saturday, March 16, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
