With pleasant weather upon us, a lot more motorcyclists (including me) are on the roads. I've noted, however, a frequent parking blunder motorcyclists make.
I don't think it's intentional, but bikers sometimes park on the hash-marked or striped areas next to handicap spaces. I found out the hard way several years ago that that space is crucial for vehicles to get wheelchairs in and out on their ramp.
I was scolded by a mother of a handicapped child for parking in that space once as I awaited the tow truck that was coming. Fortunately, I wasn't towed, but I sheepishly learned my lesson and won't ever park there again.
I'd like to pass my lesson along to fellow bikers to prevent them from getting chastised like I was!
