Albert A. Ghee

Albert Alfronzo Ghee, 77, of Spotsylvania County passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Carriage Hill Rehabilitation Center in Spotsylvania.

He was born in Rice on Feb. 16, 1936, to the late Albert and Estelle Ghee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Carter; a daughter-in-law, Denise Ghee; and two grandsons, Dale "G-Man" Ghee and Malik Ross.

Throughout his life he was a heavy equipment operator in the Virginia, Maryland and Washington area, involved in the construction industry, a timber and farm technician, and owned and operated tractor-trailers in several interstate hauling businesses.

His true passion was fishing and hunting. He was also a member of Farmville Masonic Lodge No. 41.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary T. Ghee; nine children, Leroy Ross, Dale Ghee, Geraldine Brown and Patricia Fox, all of Virginia, Wayne Ghee of North Carolina, the Rev. Albert Ghee of Texas, Phillip Ghee of Germany, Deborah Evans of Connecticut and Carl Ross of Maryland; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m., at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg, Va. 22408, 540/898-7970. A funeral will be held at 11 am. Saturday, March 23, at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 10411 Cooktown Road, Spotsylvania, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery.
