Many people who believe in right to life shame and condemn the woman who believes in right of choice and who has an abortion.
Many of these same people are strangely silent about the man who chooses freedom of choice, his choice being freedom from responsibility for the pregnancy, for the abortion, and for the care and support of the child if there is no abortion.
Many are quick to condemn the woman and attempt to force her to continue an unwanted pregnancy, while nothing is said and no effort is made to hold the man responsible.
Where is the strident voice, where is the call for legislation, where is the moral indignation about the man?
Male evangelical preachers, male-only Catholic priests, predominantly male legislators, and those conservatives who continue to believe in vestiges of male dominance are silent about holding the man accountable. This silence belies their supposed moral high ground.
Their absence of action is a double standard, a double standard that is unjust and immoral. Their pro-life position could be taken more seriously if and when they speak up and advocate action relative to the male.
