David Joseph Shackelford, 92, of King George County died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Hughes Home.

Mr. Shackelford was a World War II Navy Seabees veteran. He enjoyed traveling, auto racing and antiques restoration.

Mr. Shackelford co-owned Shackelford's Garage with his son, Jerry.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Shackelford; son Jerry Shackelford and wife Delores; brother Richard Shackelford; three grandchildren, Carla Jones, Sandi Shackelford and Kris Shackelford; and three great-grandsons, Jacob Jones, William Jones and Samuel Shackelford. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lyman, John, Enoch, Howard and French Shackelford.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Ramoth Baptist Church cemetery.
