On behalf of all the volunteer workers at the Spotsylvania Emergency Concerns Association, I would like to pass on our profound appreciation to those individuals and organizations who have supported S.E.C.A. over the last year.
Donations of food, staple items, and money from individuals, our county's churches, schools, and private organizations have made it possible to provide assistance to more than 2,000 families.
This included more than 100,000 pounds of food and financial assistance with electric, water, and heating bills and other financial needs.
A special "thank you" goes to the Spotsylvania schools' transportation department for providing and helping to distribute Christmas toys.
Our resources are dependent on the generosity of individuals and organizations. The dismal economy and job loss situation--which grows worse by the day--has drastically increased the number of those who require assistance; concurrently, it has had an adverse effect on our ability to obtain the additional donations necessary to meet this increased obligation.
We cannot find adequate words to express our appreciation to those who have supported S.E.C.A.
