Edwin D. Gorsuch

Edwin Denwood "Ed" Gorsuch, 96, of Spotsylvania County passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Carriage Hill Health and Rehab Center.

Ed was part of the first Air National Guard Squadron, the 104th Army Air Observation Corps, which was founded in 1921; he became a member in 1940. He retired as an air traffic controller for the federal government. He attended Round Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Thomas Gorsuch of Spotsylvania; dear cousin Hester Patterson of Boco Rotan, Fla.; grandson Matthew Gorsuch of Richmond; granddaughter Tory Leahy of Radford; great-grandson John of Richmond, who is the fourth generation of the Gorsuch family; two great-granddaughters, Kylie and Mia, both of Radford; dear friend Betty Strother of Caroline County; and sister-in-law Faye Gorsuch of Maryland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Gorsuch; and brother Stu Gorsuch.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., in Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of memorials, donations may be made to the Round Oak Baptist Church Building Fund, 15025 Pepmeir Road, Corbin, Va. 22446.
