Ramonia Parker-Poe

Ramonia A. Parker-Poe, 50, was born Feb. 16, 1963, in Governor's Island, N.Y. She was the daughter of Eddie J. Parker and Rayomie Scott Parker. She departed this life on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at her home in Hartwood.

Ramonia served as a law enforcement officer in the U.S. Air Force for more than eight years. She was then employed as a program management assistant for the Department of the Army under the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort A.P. Hill.

Ramonia was gifted in many areas. She lived life to the fullest, placing family above all else. She was an avid traveler and loved music, collecting antiques and conversing with all.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Brian K. Poe; three children, Moya McKnight (Corey), Brandon Parker and Brian Poe II; her parents, Eddie J. Parker and Rayomie Scott Parker; two sisters, Yolanda Johnson (Les) and Sandra Williams (Larry); one brother, Kevin Parker; two grandchildren, Jeremy Poe and Brielle McKnight; her mother-in-law, Barbara J. Poe; one sister-in-law, Karen Poe Freiheit (David); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 395 Mount Olive Road, Stafford. A private burial by the family will be held Wednesday, April 10, at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Warrenton Road Branch of BB&T in the name of Brian K. Poe II to help with his college tuition.
