Norris Chamberlain

Norris Chamberlain of Reedville died peacefully Sunday, April 7, 2013.

He was a son of the late Philip C. Chamberlain and Sally Hutton Chamberlain. After 35 years of service, he retired from C&P Telephone Company.

Surviving are his wife, Agness Dingledine Chamberlain, formerly of Harrisonburg; four children, Norris Chamberlain Jr. of Mechanicsville, Jean Evans of Raleigh, N.C., Elizabeth Lovering of Virginia Beach and Sarah Gorham of Bristow.

He was blessed with four grandsons; four granddaughters; three stepgrandsons; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chamberlain was preceded in death by brother Philip Chamberlain of McKinney; and twin brother Holmes Chamberlain.

He was a native of Warrenton and moved to Fredericksburg, where he lived for many years before retiring to Reedville. Mr. Chamberlain was a lifetime member of Presbyterian Church USA, where he served as elder and deacon, a member of American Legion Post 117, the Association of Naval Aviation, Tailhook Association, U.S. Naval Institute, USS Wasp Association and the Distinguished Flying Cross Association.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 435 E. Church St., Kilmarnock. A reception at the church will follow the service.
