June V. Lambert

June VanDyke Lambert, 86, of Bowling Green died of non-Hodgkins lymphoma Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Decatur, Ga., at the home of her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Thomas Bingham, of Decatur; two grandchildren, Sam Bingham of Dover, N.H., and Leah Bingham of Decatur; brother Sam VanDyke of Abingdon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Elyse Lambert of Nokesville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Lambert Jr., who died in 2003.

She retired in 1987 from a 30-year federal government career working in financial management at Fort A.P. Hill. At the time of her retirement she was director of resource management for Fort A.P. Hill. She was a longtime member of Bowling Green United Methodist Church, and had served as chairwoman of the church finance committee. She enjoyed her bridge club, fishing and boating.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Bowling Green United Methodist Church. Burial will be at a later date in Richlands.

The family requests that any memorial donations be sent to Bowling Green United Methodist Church.
