Clarence A. Carr

Clarence A. "Skeeter" Carr, 87, of Spotsylvania County entered into eternal peace Friday, April 12, 2013, at his daughter's home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Carr was born on July 2, 1925, in Spotsylvania to the late Rufus Waller and Lola Marie Carr.

Mr. Carr was a disabled veteran from the WWII era. He worked as a farm equipment mechanic. He loved having yard sales and growing vegetables in his garden. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church in Spotsylvania, where he served as a trustee.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mabel Louise Carr; brother Joseph Carr; and sisters Elsie Gentry, Bertie Ferrell, Cleora Phillipii and Sue Sacra.

Survivors include his son Raymond (Maxine); daughter Frances; grandchildren Lindsay Call (Todd) of Spotsylvania and Melissa Sebring (Nicholas) of Melbourne, Fla.; great-grandson Wyatt Call; and his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 15, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Bethel Christian Church cemetery.
