Janet Wagner

Janet Regan Wagner, 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, after a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Danbury, Conn., where she worked in her family's diner on Shelter Rock Road until she met and married "Ronnie" in 1954. Together they traveled the world following his career until retiring to their favorite place, Fredericksburg.

Janet was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting. At various times throughout her life she was a health-care volunteer, where she made many friends.

Janet is predeceased by her parents, Freida and Herbert Regan; four sisters, Betty Anderson, Pauline Vassak, Shirley Mullins, Nancy McKay, and two brothers, Herbert Regan Jr. and Walter Regan.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald A. Wagner; daughter Lindalee Stroud and husband Simon of Fredericksburg and Teriann Scarantino and husband Pasquale of Tampa, Fla.; her beloved grandchildren, Joseph Marek and wife Theresa, Danalee Scozzafava and husband Jason and Justin Duda and wife, Candy. She was a great-grandmother to Gwenevere Scozzafava, Fiona Scozzafava and Addison Marek.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Washington Home Health and Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
