Don't like candidates? Try a libertarian

The Democrats and Republicans have nominated gubernatorial candidates who are deplorable.

Democrat Terry McAuliffe reeks of cronyism, and he sent jobs to Mississippi. Republican Ken Cuccinelli is no better, having forgotten to disclose thousands of dollars in "financial gifts" from the CEO of Star Scientific.

Fortunately, the Libertarian Party of Virginia has given Virginia another ballot choice by nominating its candidate, Robert Sarvis.

Unlike Cuccinelli and McAuliffe, Sarvis is a native-born Virginian and Ivy League graduate. He holds degrees from Harvard, the University of Cambridge, NYU School of Law, and George Mason University. Rob also has diverse professional experience as an entrepreneur, a software engineer, a math teacher, and a lawyer.

We have Cuccinelli who challenges McAuliffe to 15 debates, yet Cuccinelli himself refuses to debate other candidates, like Sarvis. And we have McAuliffe who won't release his detailed tax returns. So much for "fair." So much for "transparent."

The Republican and Democratic parties have failed us. Both Cuccinelli and McAuliffe are deficient when it comes to upholding Virginia's principles. Thankfully, win or lose, there will be a candidate to vote for: Robert Sarvis for governor.
