Delores Miller Beverly Ashby, 77, of Fredericksburg went to meet the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, after a long illness.
Mrs. Ashby was born in Washington, D.C., and was the daughter of the late Waller and Gladys Griffith Miller. She was a retired owner of Dr. Sew & Sew in Fredericksburg. Mrs. Ashby was a member of Strong Tower Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buckner Ashby Jr.
Survivors include six daughters, Diane Beverly and fiance Jim Lam of Partlow, Faith Cleaves and husband Ben of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Vicky Carroll and husband Gary of Warrenton, Debby Beverly and husband Mike O'Byrne of Spotsylvania County and Karen Beverly and Kathy Beverly, both of Fredericksburg; two stepchildren, Buckner Ashby III of California and Becky Dodge of Houston; six grandchildren, Ryan Beverly, Shannon McCullen, Meggin Crummy, Caitlyn Carroll, Ashley Perrin and Cameron Carroll; five great-grandchildren, Garrett, Dallas, Evan, Emma and Lola; two sisters, Shirley Ryder of Midland and Barbara Charles of Hartwood; sister-in-law Lavon Miller of Manassas; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ashby was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Strong Tower Ministries. Interment will be private.
