Lois I. Browne

Lois I. Browne, 95, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at her home.

Mrs. Browne was born in Alberene on Nov. 21, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Schuyler James and Martha Mary Moon. Mrs. Browne lived a long, full life. She loved her family, and one of her favorite things to do was caring for her grandchildren. Mrs. Browne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She enjoyed attending the lodge meetings of the Virginia Rebekah Aid Association and held the office of Noble Grand while living in Colonial Heights.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce B. Plummer (Joe); sons A. Keith Browne and Eric R. Browne (Connie), all of Spotsylvania; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince A. Browne; son R. Michael Browne; grandson Jonathan M. Browne; six sisters; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
