Patricia Ann Chambers, 72, of Orangeburg, S.C., formerly of Fredericksburg departed this life Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Floyd G. Chambers and Alfreda Chambers. Patricia was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (New Site). She was a graduate of Walker Grant High School in Fredericksburg and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, N.C.
Her educational career spanned many years as a teacher in Spotsylvania County, Guilford County, N.C., and 21 years in Saint Croix, Virgin Islands.
Survivors include one sister, Sarah Chambers Monroe of Orangeburg; two brothers, Clyde Chambers (Fannie) of Victorville, Calif., and Samuel Chambers Sr., (Eloise) of Spotsylvania; nephews Cornelius Chambers and Patrick Chambers of Victorville, Samuel Chambers Jr. of Wheaton, Md., Ronald Monroe of Fredericksburg and Crowley Chambers of Gaithersburg, Md.; and nieces LaSharon Feaster of Temecula, Calif., Tammy Shorte' of Culver City, Calif., Sabrina O'Neal and Cathy Chambers of Spotsylvania, and Dale Chambers of Fredericksburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by one sister, Junia Chambers Jenkins of Greensboro; and one brother, Floyd G. Chambers (Alice) of Spotsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Shiloh Baptist Church (New Site) Building Fund.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, Fredericksburg. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
Following the interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, the family will receive friends at the home of Ronald Monroe.
