My mom and I recently took my kids to the Cole Bros. Circus at the Fredericksburg Fairgrounds. They started the show by raising the American flag and asking us to stand for our national anthem. We were appalled when we witnessed three families in the area we sat refuse to stand for the anthem. All three of these families were able to walk a good distance to get into the circus, so I know they were not too disabled to stand.
I am writing this in the hope that these people, and others who refuse to stand for the anthem on a regular basis, will read this and change their ways. Men and women over the years have died and sacrificed to give these ungrateful people the freedom to sit there and be lazy instead of honoring their country. It's not too much to ask.
