Since the purchase of Allegheny Power for $154 million, there has been a decline in electric service from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative. The number of days without power after storms has increased, costing a significant amount of money and resources for homeowners and business owners.
The good news I have been told is that we, Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, gained 50,000 new members/owners. Or is the bad news that we have gained 50,000 new members/owners?
Does Rappahannock Electric Cooperative have the resources to keep our lights on at the current or even increased rates? I would like to see a cost-benefit analysis and projected payback period done to support the purchase price of $154 million for Allegheny Power.
