Robert E. Rudy

Retired Army Master Sgt. Robert E. Rudy, 68, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Robert served in the U.S. Army for more than 25 years, including during the Vietnam War. At the time of his retirement he was a Defense Mapping School instructor at Fort Belvoir.

Robert is survived by "Ginny," his wife of 36 years; three stepsons, Ronald Bevans of Ohio, Jimmy Bevans of Winchester and Robert Bevans and his wife, Kathy, of Fredericksburg; sister Lauretta Cline and a brother, Terry L. Rudy, both of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ralph A. Rudy.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Va.
