Jewell Lee Hobbs Ingram passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Bowling Green Health and Rehab Center.
She had worked many years at Peoples Bank of Stafford, before joining the FBI and retiring with 20 years of service.
Jewell was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Lee County, at Rose Hill, where she attended Thomas Walker High School. She was the eldest of six children.
After her marriage to "the love of her life," William Palmer Ingram, they resided in Detroit, Mich., before moving back to the family farm in Lee County.
The family moved to the Fredericksburg area in 1966, and planted new roots. She truly loved the area. Jewell was a feisty little white-haired lady, always talking, always caring and always a doting mother and grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Larry (Geri); grandson Shawn; great-grandson Chad Jr.; great-granddaughter Brook Elizabeth; sisters Janice and Betty; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; grandson Chad Alvery Ingram; her brother, Jimmy; two sisters, Shirley Jean and Judy; and her parents, Roy and Alma Hobbs.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
