Clarence Juan Barton, 85, of Luray passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.
He grew up in South Carolina, served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a lifelong Mason. He was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church.
After moving to North Carolina, he met the love of his life, Ruby Morgan Barton.
Clarence was an electrical engineer and worked in many different capacities in the electrical field. He and his wife owned a business in Woodbridge. Later in life they moved to Luray, to spend time in the mountains, which he truly loved.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Morgan Barton, whom he adored; daughters Jacqueline Barton Demory and Johanna Barton Eckley and her husband, Todd; and grandchildren Jason Demory, Sean Demory, Sarah Eckley and James Barton Jr.
He was predeceased by his son, James Thomas Barton; and son-in-law Michael Alan Demory.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford. He will be buried in Bessemer City, N.C., at a later date.
