Seward B. Trice

Seward B. Trice, 83, of Woodford died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.

Born in Delos, which is now a part of Fort A.P. Hill, he was a lifelong resident of Caroline County and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a farmer and operated several businesses including Homestead Hardware and grocery stores in Caroline and Spotsylvania counties.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lelia R. Trice. Survivors include three children, Sharon Tinder (Doug), Gary Trice and Douglas Trice (Nina); two sisters, Mary Lambert and Lucille Tompkins; four grandchildren, Courtney Tinder McNelis, Logan Tinder, Taylor Calhoun and Tyler Trice; four great-grandchildren; and his devoted friend, Doris Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with a reception to follow at the Madison Ruritan Club in Ladysmith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Baptist Church.
