Wanda Gore

Wanda Gore, 86, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, in Glen Allen, surrounded by family.

Wanda was a longtime resident of Woodbridge. She was famous for her great love of children and a home that was always open to everyone. She was also known for her skills in crocheting, sewing and many other arts and crafts and her incredible green thumb. She also had a huge love of animals.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Gene Gore Sr.; daughter Kim Mardelle Gore; and sister Janice Merriman.

Wanda is survived and deeply missed by sons and daughters Henry Gene Gore Jr., Ronald Lee Gore, Brenda Gore Nichols, Rhonda LaRue Gore-Scott and Troy Shawn Gore; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Herbert Heroy and Robert Heroy; and a host of other family and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, VA 22191. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg.
