Lee Roy Lubore

Lee Roy Lubore, 86, of Locust Grove passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Dogwood Village of Orange County.

Lee was born on Dec. 10, 1927, to Jacob and Bessie (Stein) Lubore in Baltimore, Md.

He served in the U.S. Army from November 1950 to November 1952 earning the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany). Lee worked for the White House police force until the late 1960s, after 12 years of service. He and his family moved to the Locust Grove area in 1968, where he was a founding member of the Lake of the Woods Fire Department.

He enjoyed ship model building and found special joy in caring for his yard. Lee married Lana Gail Fields in June 1972, in Spotsylvania County and she survives him. Other survivors include two sons, Jack Lubore (Karen) and David Lubore (Linna); one daughter Carla Kline (Ken); one sister-in-law, Patricia Holbrook; and three grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Lubore and Austin Marquardt (Matthew).

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Doubt officiating. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
