Oliver H. Tacy

Oliver H. Tacy, 88, of Bowling Green died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, in Mary Washington Hospital.

Born in West Virginia, he had retired from the U.S. Army and then worked as a civil servant at Fort A.P. Hill. His military service included tours of duty during WWII and in Korea and Vietnam. He was a faithful member of Ambassador Baptist Church and was the widower of Anna Tacy.

Survivors include his children, Janice Fogle (Butch), Patricia Carter (Mike), Thomas Tacy (Lolita), Wanda Tobin (Joe) and Douglas Tacy; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Tacy.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Ambassador Baptist Church, Woodford, with Pastor Mike McGee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.
