Alexander D. Edelman

Alexander Davis Edelman, 29, of Stafford County passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Alexandria.

Alex was a devoted father to Sage Marie Edelman; a beloved oldest brother to his three younger siblings, Stephanie, Terence and Robert Edelman; and a dearly loved firstborn son to his parents, Eric and Patricia Edelman.

He is also survived by paternal grandparents Milton and Frederica Edelman and maternal grandmother Frances Davis.

Alex delighted in spending time with his 4-year-old daughter Sage, especially at his family's home on the Eastern Shore in the summers. He was an avid reader, and also enjoyed music and writing as a hobby. Throughout his childhood Alex lived overseas with his family, and served in the U.S. Army from 2006 to 2009, graduating from artillery school at Fort Sill and serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Alex always cherished the time he spent with Sage, who adored "Daddy." They loved going to the park together, reading her favorite books, making alphabet flashcards, and playing Tic-Tac-Toe, especially when he let her win.

Alex will be missed and is loved by many family and friends, who mourn the tragedy of his passing.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Burial will follow in Regester Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
