Edythe M. Robins

Edythe Marchant Smith Robins, 86, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, Md.

Edythe had been a resident of Colonial Beach for more than 40 years. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frank Seeley Smith Sr. and Edith Russell Seymour.

She is survived by sons Dr. William H. Robins and wife Cathleen of Cambridge, Md., and David D. Robins and wife Renee of Oceanside, Calif.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hamilton Robins III; a son, Roy Marchant Robins; a brother; and two sisters.

Edythe was an accomplished artist and musician. She trained to be a concert pianist and enjoyed classical music as well as jazz. She was a church organist through 2011. She loved the Washington Redskins.

Services will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718; or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
