Ralph R. Davis

Ralph Randolph Davis, 70, of Fredericksburg passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Davis was born in Marion, Va., to Walter and Lue Ellen Davis. He worked at GEICO for 45 years. Mr. Davis was an active member of the community. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of Rotary, Stafford Chapter, having served as president. He also served on the board of the U.S. Postal Service. He launched internship programs to provide local students job opportunities and the Safe Driving Program at North Stafford High School.

Mr. Davis was an avid football fan, including college and the Redskins. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and making charitable contributions.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judy; daughter Lisa, her husband, Bruce Pechacek, and their sons Nathan, Alex and Tyler; and daughter Melanie, her husband, Shad Montague, and their son, Grayson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life, Team Ralph Davis, through relayforlife.org.

The family sends a special thanks to Pastor Fred Donahoe, Dr. Leroy Essig, Dr. Greg Kauffman, his GEICO family, all of the staff at Mary Washington Hospital, who provided excellent care through the years, and, foremost, his friends and family.
