Myrtle B. Brown

Myrtle B. Brown, 92, of Fredericksburg passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Brown was of the Baptist faith and had been a Sunday school teacher, Mission Friends director and a UMW prayer chairman.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Brown was the widow of Henry Clay Brown Jr., and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Myrna Brennan.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Jackson of Fredericksburg; son Henry Clay Brown III of Washington, N.C.; son-in-law Rev. Richard Brennan of Elmer, N.J.; seven granddaughters; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Estes and Emma Summers, both of Stafford County; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Highway/Rte. 1, Fredericksburg. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
